Writing Twin

FAQ

Common questions about Writing Twin, in plain terms.

What is Writing Twin?

An AI co-authoring tool that learns your own writing voice from samples you give it, then drafts alongside you — proposing text you review, edit and accept, rather than generating a finished piece in one shot.

How does the twin learn my voice?

From the writing samples you upload or paste in. The more it has read of your work, the closer its drafts get to sounding like you rather than a generic AI voice.

Is this ghostwriting — am I allowed to use it?

Writing Twin drafts with you, in your voice, and keeps a record of the collaboration between you and the twin on every paper. Whether and how you need to disclose AI assistance is set by your institution, publisher or examining body, and those rules vary — that decision is yours to make, using the authorship record as evidence of how a piece was written.

Which languages does it support?

English and Arabic, both with full right-to-left support for Arabic.

Can I write with co-authors?

Yes. Invite collaborators to a paper by email and write together in real time — everyone sees changes as they happen.

What are review links?

A way to give someone read-only access to a paper without them needing a Writing Twin account. You can revoke a review link at any time.

How do references work?

Search the literature or upload PDFs directly, and the twin builds a cited scaffold from what you add — so drafts can point back to real sources rather than inventing them.

Can I dictate instead of typing?

Yes, in both English and Arabic, using an accurate speech-to-text engine built for this.

What formats can I import and export?

Import from .txt, .md, .pdf or .docx. Export your paper as Markdown, Word (DOCX) or PDF.

What's the pricing, and is there a trial?

A 7-day free trial, card required. After that, Starter is £11 a month or Researcher is £23 a month, both prices including VAT. Cancel any time from the billing portal.

What counts as a "twin action"?

A generation (the twin drafting or continuing your text) or an AI review — each counts as one action against your plan's monthly quota.

How do I delete my account?

Email support@writingtwin.com and ask us to delete it. There is no self-serve delete button in the product yet, so this is handled by us on request.
