Who we are

Writing Twin is operated by Al Daim Digital, a company based in the United Kingdom. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Al Daim Digital, and "you" means the person or organisation using the service.

You can reach us at support@writingtwin.com for anything in these terms, including questions, complaints and requests.

The service

Writing Twin is an AI co-authoring tool. It learns your writing voice from samples you provide, then drafts alongside you rather than generating a finished piece in one shot — you review, edit and accept what it proposes.

The service includes collaboration with co-authors, a reference library for literature you search or upload, dictation for spoken input, and export of your papers to common document formats.

Accounts

You must give us accurate information when you create an account and keep it up to date. You are responsible for keeping your password and any sign-in credentials safe.

Accounts are for one person each. Do not share your login with someone else — invite them as a collaborator instead, or give them a review link.

Tell us straight away if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.

Subscriptions and billing

New accounts start with a 7-day free trial. A payment card is required to start the trial. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your card is charged for the plan you selected and your subscription begins.

We offer two paid plans: Starter at £11 a month and Researcher at £23 a month. Both prices include VAT — the amount shown is the whole amount you pay, with no tax added afterwards.

Each plan includes a monthly quota of "twin actions". A generation (the twin drafting or continuing text) and an AI review each count as one action. Your quota resets at the start of each billing period and does not roll over.

Subscriptions renew automatically every month until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from the billing portal in your account. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep access to your plan until the end of the period you already paid for, and you are not charged again after that.

Fair and acceptable use

Use Writing Twin lawfully and for its intended purpose: co-authoring your own written work. Do not upload or submit content you have no right to use, including material under someone else's copyright or confidential to a third party.

Do not attempt to probe, disable or bypass our security, rate limits or usage quotas, and do not use the service to build a competing product.

Do not resell, sublicense or provide access to the service to anyone outside your own account or its invited collaborators without our written agreement.

Your content and intellectual property

You own what you write and upload — your papers, writing samples, comments and reference documents remain yours. We claim no ownership over drafts the twin generates for your papers.

You grant us a limited licence to store, process and transmit your content, solely to operate the service for you — for example, to send your paper text to a model provider so the twin can draft, or to render your paper as a PDF export. This licence ends when the corresponding content is deleted.

The Writing Twin name, branding and the software itself remain the property of Al Daim Digital.

AI-generated output

Drafts, suggestions and reviews produced by the twin are generated by AI models and can be wrong, incomplete or inconsistent with your sources. Treat every draft as a starting point, not a finished, verified text.

You are responsible for checking anything the twin produces before you rely on it or publish it — including verifying that citations are accurate and that referenced sources say what the draft claims they say.

Academic integrity

Writing Twin is built to draft with you in your own voice, not to write on your behalf in a way that hides your involvement. You are responsible for meeting whatever disclosure rules your institution, publisher or examining body sets for AI-assisted writing — those rules vary, and we cannot know or apply them for you.

The service keeps an authorship record of the collaboration between you and the twin on each paper, which you can point to if a disclosure or query ever asks how a piece was written.

Guest reviewers

You can create review links that give someone read-only access to a paper without their needing an account. Guests who use a review link are bound by the same acceptable-use rules as account holders.

You can revoke a review link at any time, after which it no longer grants access.

Availability and changes to the service

We aim to keep Writing Twin available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may update, add to or remove features as the service develops, and we will let you know before any change that materially reduces what your plan offers.

Termination

You can stop using the service or cancel your subscription at any time from the billing portal.

We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these terms — for example, by breaking the acceptable-use rules above. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will give you notice and a chance to put things right first.

Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability to you arising from your use of Writing Twin is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Your right to cancel and governing law

As a UK consumer, you normally have 14 days to cancel a digital service without giving a reason. Because Writing Twin is a digital service you can start using immediately, by starting your free trial you are asking us to begin supplying the service straight away — your cancellation rights then work exactly as described in the Subscriptions and billing section above: cancel any time, access continues to the end of the period already paid for.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, for example as the service changes. We will notify you by email or with a notice in the app before a material change takes effect, and continued use of Writing Twin after that point means you accept the updated terms.
